Barcelona is a city made for walking, yes. But also for pausing. For sitting in the sun for five minutes, listening to the city’s beautiful background hum, and thinking: okay, this is exactly what I needed.
And the best part? You don’t have to go far. From Hotel Pulitzer Barcelona, right in the heart of the city, you’ll find a handful of parks and gardens that are perfect for switching pace (even if it’s just for a little while). Here are our favourites.
1) Parc de la Ciutadella
The classic that never fails. Wide paths, quiet corners to lie down, a charming lake, and that Barcelona atmosphere that blends locals, slow strolls and Sundays that seem to last forever.
📍 From Hotel Pulitzer: 25–30 min walk / 10 min by taxi
✨ Our plan: a no-rush wander + exploring El Born afterwards + coming back to the hotel with that “day well spent” feeling.
2) Gardens of the University of Barcelona
This one’s a hidden surprise. You’re right in the centre, surrounded by traffic and city life… and suddenly you step inside and everything turns the volume down. Palm trees, benches, shade and calm. Small, yes. But full of magic.
📍 From Hotel Pulitzer: 5 min walk
✨ Our plan: coffee to go + a ten-minute pause + back to the route like nothing happened (but much better).
3) Jardins del Palau Robert (Passeig de Gràcia)
An elegant garden right in the middle of Eixample’s most iconic boulevard. Perfect for a little break when you’re in “architecture, beautiful shops and I need to breathe” mode.
📍 From Hotel Pulitzer: 15–20 min walk or 10 min on metro line L3
✨ Our plan: a stroll along Passeig de Gràcia + a green pause to breathe + back via Rambla de Catalunya.
4) Montjuïc
If you’re craving real fresh air, Montjuïc is your place. Gardens, peaceful paths, views—and that feeling of escaping without actually leaving the city. In February, it’s especially lovely: fewer people, more calm.
📍 From Hotel Pulitzer: 30 min by public transport (metro L3 + short walk)
✨ Our plan: go up mid-afternoon and stay until the light starts to shift.
5) Parc de les Glòries
One of the most “new Barcelona” parks: spacious, contemporary, urban, and with a different vibe. Ideal if you feel like seeing the city from another perspective and walking slowly between modern architecture and open spaces.
📍 From Hotel Pulitzer: 10 min on metro line L1
✨ Our plan: a long walk, effortless pretty photos, and back to the centre with renewed energy.
The best part about parks is that they leave you in the perfect mood to return to the hotel and keep going without changing your vibe: a slow shower, something relaxed… and ending the day exactly the way it deserves.
Because at Pulitzer, the word “coming back” always sounds good.
